SOFTWARE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
----------------------------------

The Track PC must be running Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition for the Adaptive Kernel.

1. You must have Administrator to run the installation. Before installing the software, stop all other applications
and power off the SmartSource unit.
To install the software, run setup.exe

2. The user account that will run this software must be assigned full control permissions to the folder
where the software was installed (eg, C:\SmartSource) and its subfolders, as well as the folder where images will be stored
(for the image storage path, see the values of DriveLetter and StoragePathName in the registry, HKLM\Software\Unisys\SmartSource).

The USB connection must be USB 2.0.

Regarding Anti-Virus Software:

The Track PC is operating realtime applications that require unfettered access to each other and their associated PC's.
Their performance can be severely impacted by active agents of antivirus software programs.
Periodic scans can be run (ie: once per day, or once per week) when the transport is not processing live work,
but should never be left running while these systems are in use.

Regarding Screen Savers:

Screen Savers should not be run while the Transport PC is in use.
